Debbie not only filled our lives with sunshine, she was sunshine. Her dazzling smile, warm eyes, and brilliant energy. A heart as big and beautiful as hers was capable of breaking. Thank you for bringing so much joy into my life for so many years. Aggie Cromwell was the granddaughter every weird Halloween obsessed kid wanted. Your unadulterated delight in those old movies I love so much was a wonder to behold. And that wholesome, angelic quality belied some serious strength. Our world was brighter because you were in it. You still are.

Edit: many people believe Debbie died of a broken heart, but her son Todd Fisher says this isn’t true. She simply left to be with Carrie. My eyes are welling up as I type this. What a beautiful expression of love. There is something so achingly sad about it, but I love that these two brave souls were reunited in death.

    1. Thank you, Michaela. I decided to keep it brief. We really were lucky to have Debbie, and Carrie too. They both did so much for mental health, and Debbie was also an LGBT ally.
